Advanced Strata Management Certificate Course

This is an applied course for licensees who have less than three years’ experience and a refresher course for those who have been licensed longer.

This applied course is designed for new strata managers but also serves as a refresher course for more experienced strata managers.

Students will develop practical knowledge and skills for problem solving and acquire a deeper understanding of how to handle everyday challenges pertaining to statutory compliance, annual and special general meetings, council meetings, budget preparation, financial reserves, building maintenance, insurance claims, and time management.

This course is endorsed by PAMA and SPABC.

Participants will be expected to participate in a Zoom class from 10am to 11:30 am, every Friday. In addition there are required reading materials, discussion topics and video recordings that will take approximately 2 hours each week.

Instructor: Silvia Hoogstins, The Wynford Group

Silvia Hoogstins has worked in the Property Management industry since 1991.  Her management experience includes strata, rental, commercial and co-operative housing management. She is a past President of Professional Association of Managing Agents (PAMA) and is currently on the PAMA Education Committee.  Silvia sits on the Education Advisory Group for BC Financial Services Authority (formerly the Real Estate Council) and was part of Strata Property Act Advisory Group for the Ministry of Energy and Mines and Minister Responsible for Housing. In addition, she has assisted in providing guidance and input into the current Civil Resolution Tribunal program.  As a Team Leader at Wynford, Silvia oversees a team of agents striving always to instill an exceptional customer service mindset and to provide her team with the necessary knowledge to make the best decisions for their properties.

Cost: PAMA members $500+GST
          Non-Members: $750 + GST - includes a 1-year Individual PAMA membership.
