January 17 Luncheon Seminar
Utilities – Charging actual use or unit entitlement? Co-presented by Paul Mendes and Veronica Franco

There is push from municipalities and strata corporations to charge individual owners for their actual consumption of common expense utilities. Studies have shown that charging individuals their actual consumption reduces consumption and costs. However, the Strata Property Act creates hurdles for doing this simply and easily. At this seminar, you will learn why deviating from unit entitlement is difficult and what are the pitfalls for trying to charge based on consumption.
