This session focuses on increasing participant awareness around the impact of stress and equipping participants with strategies for responding to stressful situations through effective communication and de-escalation techniques. Participants will also learn how they can manage their stress, including the importance of self-care. Case studies are included that relect stressors common to the property management industry.

Chantelle Lam, Homewood Health
Chantelle Lam is a practicing Registered Clinical Counsellor, an educator, and an experienced people leader. With more than 13 years working within the Employee and Family Assistance industry, Chantelle is skilled in supporting the development of psychologically healthy workplaces and employee health and wellness. In her clinical practice, Chantelle’s areas of expertise and particular interest include the role of culture in the development and maintenance of psychological stress and wellness, relationship dynamics, workplace and career issues, life transitions, and grief and loss. Chantelle holds a Master of Counselling Degree and is a doctoral candidate in psychology. She currently works as a graduate school program director and professor, overseeing the education of aspiring clinical counsellors, and in independent practice as a clinical counsellor and workshop facilitator.
