Lunch & Learn: Dealing with Complaints - The Accused
One of the most important duties of a strata council is to enforce bylaws (and rules). Part of that enforcement can involve the levying of fines, charging back the reasonable costs of remedying a bylaw contravention or temporarily denying access to a recreational facility. To ensure bylaw enforcement is upheld, it is critical that the process set out in section 135 of the Strata Property Act is followed perfectly. This seminar will review the process, including investigations of complaints, and discuss the most common errors to help “CRT – proof” bylaw enforcement.
